Buford Beauregard Buckshot
Call name “Bucky”
Purebred Chocolate Labrador Retriever
Vancouver, Washington
Born October 17, 2003
Bucky is one of three indoor Labs at the Nicholson household.
He hunts dove, pheasant, forest grouse, duck and goose and is both blind and open water trained.
Bucky gained celebrity status by being selected as the 2006 Michaels of Oregon Catalog Cover Dog and is pictured throughout the catalog posing with different products and in lifestyle shots. After two grueling days of photo shooting at Vancouver Lake, professional commercial photographers pronounced Bucky as the best behaved and smartest animal they have ever worked with.
He also can be seen on OLN, ESPN 2, and Men’s channel TV commercials advertising Hoppes Boresnake gun cleaning system. At the beginning of the commercial, back dropped by a stunning red sunrise, Bucky bursts out of the blind after a shotgun blast. He appears again at the end of the commercial, sitting in the blind opening, as the words Boresnake come on the screen. Again, the videographers that filmed the commercial said he was amazing and the best they ever worked with.
He totally understands what the camera is and will pose on command. He is a handsome stud and like most studs … always looking for a girlfriend.
His first fun jump was in the fall of 2005 at Horseshoe Lake in Vancouver, Washington.
One week later he competed at Diamond Lake, OR. He learned Extreme Vertical one night and placed seventh in the finals the next day. It’s his favorite.
In March he achieved his official Senior title at the Cabela’s National Sportsmen Series in Lehi, Utah. His personal best official Big Air leap was in the finals at 18’ 8”. His best official Extreme Vertical grab is 6’6” (but he can do much better).
He is in the process of getting his service dog title in Therapy and hopes he can make a big splash on the jumping dog circuit and continue to do a little modeling on the side.
