2011 Cascade DockDogs Awards

Summary by Connie...
Hello! Thanks to all who came to the CDD year-end banquet. We had 49 people and a lot of fun. We appreciate everyone coming and the extra effort by those coming from down south and way up north is greatly appreciated.

A big thanks to Cera for her year-end review videos and the tribute to our 4-pawed friends we’ve lost over the years. It was a solemn reminder that we have a lot of work to do to “Chase Away K9 Cancer”. Cera presented Scott and I with the Chase Away Award and that means a lot to us.

We did a toast to Tula & Piper. We’re going to miss these 2 wonderful pups on the dock this year.

This year the Jr. Handlers (Kendra, Caitlyn, Justin, Nicole & Trace) received calendars put together by none other than Ms. C. filled with this past years events. Something I’m sure they’ll look back on for years to come. For Nicolas and Natalia’s Jr. Handler gifts we presented Cascade Dockdog T-shirts and look forward to seeing them on the dock this coming year making some fun dockdiving memories.

A big thanks to Terry for providing the best place in the NW to practice.

Thanks to Heidi for keeping the website update to date with events & practice info. It is greatly appreciated.

***Somewhere in here we took a break and sang Happy Birthday to Cera*** It was a couple weeks late but you don’t let the big 50 pass by without some sort of recognition. Hee hee
Outstanding Junior Achievement Award – Kendra Lee
Congratulations to Kendra with Bridger for being the Top Ranked Big Air Youth Handler for Zone 1…AGAIN! Kendra with Bridger were also the Top Ranked Regional Overall Big Air Youth Handler and Top Ranked Big Air Youth Handler for Zone 2 with Stormy. What will 2012 hold? Can’t wait to see!
Dog of the Year – Little Man – he excelled at everything this year and I know the Calverts are mighty proud of this big sweet boy! Cascade is very proud too!

Scott announced the new President (Diane Kunkle) and Secretary (Kay Dietrich). Congratulations you two! I think Kay will be creating a CDD Facebook page which will be very nice to keep up on the latest with the club.

The raffle brought in $275 for Chase Away! Nice job everyone!

Dog Toy Swap was up last. Took sometime before the serious stealing started but then it almost didn’t stop!!

I’d like to say thanks to our officers and board members. You are an integral part of this club and your participation has been both invaluable and appreciated. It’s been a pleasure working with you all these past 4 years.

Hope I didn’t forget anything or anyone….there was a lot going on.

I’ll get pictures up on the website soon.

See you on the dock soon.
Connie

P.S. I knew I’d forget something…. A big thank you to the Hainstocks for putting together a wonderful video chronicling Kendra’s hard work on her journey to reach the Dockdog Worlds competition this past year. It ended showing Kendra at Worlds where she took home 1st place for the Youth Handler division. Congratulations again Kendra!
