Love to do dock diving, I would like to get a title as well on him. I would like to practice where is a good place to do so. I live in Monroe and there are plenty of lakes but would like to practice.... also I noticed there is a show in Puyallup,Wa with the Dock dogs for four days...
I am hocked and have been for about 5 years. i have a puppy that is 7 months old and is in love with water. He is a lab/sharpie. I am going to try him out at the northwest challenge this month. I would also like to meet some of the jumpers from my area. Eugene/springfield Hunter boy and beth
Hi I live in Coos county Oregon and I was wondering if there was a club in this vicinity I am interested in learning all there is to know about this sport it looks great!
Looks like a blast! We are new to the state of WA and my boys saw you guys at the Clark County Fair and just thought this was the greatist thing he had ever seen! Will defentally be looking into how to get Conner (the dog) into becoming a Dock Dog!
Looking for information on local dock dog groups. I am interested in hosting a show or a demonstration. Please contact me with any information. Jennifer Cummings 918-341-1260 Claremore Oklahoma.
Hey Guys! This is Katie from Dock Dog Northern Stars. You guys did a great job at nationals! Congrats!
GARY LEIGHTY, Please send us an email for information on our club and the sport of DockDogs. We don't have flyers or brochures on the club or DockDogs that we could mail to you. With email we can give you the particulars of events, introduce you to others in your area (we have several members in Roseburg)and carry on meaningful, personal dialog without clogging up the forum or harvesting several trees in the process. I Hope you understand and we look forward to seeing you on the dock in 2010! Sdb
I just wanted everyone using this guestbook and visiting our site to know that although I do make a point of checking the guestbook every day or two, that this is a just a guestbook. Requests for how to get started in DockDogs would be much better served with an email to the secretary or myself which we check several times a day... except when we are on the dock! :). Thanks. See you on the dock! Sdb
HELLO, WOULD LOVE TO GET MY DOG INVOLVED WITH DOCK DOGS, HE'S A NATURAL! PLEASE SEND ANY INFO TO ME AT: 982 W BROCCOLI, ROSEBURG, OR 97471 THANK YOU
Stephanie, DockDogs does have an organization just for people like us called DockDogs Anonymous. It's an organization '...helping humans satisfy their addiction to dogs jumping in water. One jump at a time.' Have you got your bumper sticker yet? We do. The first step is to 'Just Freakin Admit It!'. Great sport, isn't it? :) Sdb
hey you guys got me hooked on dockdogs my chihuahua is jumping now. thank you for that experience
I loved going to the clark county fair with my family and had a great time taking pictures of the dock dogs doing their thing. I just wanted to let you know that I have some pictures that might be of some interest to some of the dog owners. Thanks again for the great event! Tracy 503-799-0673 TLC Professional Photography
John, Mary, lil John and "Riley" Haas, It was a pleasure meeting you at Mill Creek and even more fun to hang with you guys at Astoria! Congratulations on Riley's Speed Retrieve win! Wow! Going from a coaxed plop off the dock to wining the Speed Retrieve finals against the likes of Izzy, LC (Elsie May), Ricki and others was nothing short of AMAZING! I'm already looking forward to the next time I see you all! Scott
hi, we look forward to seeing you at mill creek! our family has been considering joining the club for some time now, we will be in mill creek to cheer you on and have fun a little fun in the water ourselves. good luck! john, mary, lil john and "Riley" haas
Janet, The address of our practice facility is at a member's private home. We don't want to make his address public by putting it on the website. People would show up anytime and that can't happen if Terry's pond is to stay open to the Cascade DockDogs Club for practice. Drop us an email if you are interested in either joining the club or coming out to a practice our sport. The practice facility is by invitation only. Don't take this wrong, to my knowledge, we haven't failed to extend an invitation to anyone who has shown an interest in getting involved. I hope to see you there at the next practice in the fall and in the meantime, be sure to come to one of the many events in July, August and September in the Northwest! All of them welcome first timers just as we do. Thanks for understanding. Scott (club president)
Please add your address to the homepage, so new members know where to go. If it's there already, I don't see it - please make it an easy-to find- link. A mapquest link would be great
Brad, We know from first hand experience that finding a place to play as a DockDog isn't easy. First, let me suggest that you go to any competitions in the area you can get to. They're a ton of fun, the people are great and the opportunity to play is there. Second, our club has a practice once a month February thru June and again in Sept/Oct with the perfect place to play in Mulino. Drop a line to Connie (club secretary) asap as the last practice (and a BBQ) before the summer event season is happening this coming Saturday. Third, look for a dock near you that has times that the traffic on it is low that you can go practice. Be courteous, keep your dog under control and you'll find yourself getting a small audience rather than being chased off. Think "sneak in a jump or two when no one is using the dock". We practice at a nearby state park that has a dock. We pick times and days that there are few people around like a midweek evening just before sunset or on a cool showery day (you're gonna get wet anyway!) Being a member of DockDogs can help if you approach private dock owners with a request to practice with your dog for an upcoming event. I've even considered taking an ad in the paper requesting the use of someone's dock in exchange for the entertainment for them. But one would need to waive personal injury while on someone's private property. Club practices and DockDog events are all insured AND require signed waivers by handlers recognizing the hazards of being on a dock with a loose dog. Good Luck and hope to see you on the dock soon. Scott
I like the website!! I would like to get my dog "Scooter" involved with DD's. We are in Vancouver WA. Can't find anywhere to take him that we can use the docks. any ideas???
Thanks Robert! I'll pass on the kudo's to Connie as secretary/website guru/wife/all around great lady! Hope to see you and your pup at the practice at the end of June!
Great web site, have been looking for a local dock jumping club that I can get my Golden Retriever involved in.
Rod & Judy, Mulino is 15-20 miles SE of Portland (nearly due east of Wilsonville). Send an email to Connie (our club secretary) for more info on the club and directions to Terry's Pond in Mulino for practices. Connie's email address is on the home page. We are an associate club of National Dockdogs, so I'd be remiss if I didn't have you check out the national website at www.dockdogs.com for even more dockdog information. There you should be able to find the nationwide events calendar for this year's events. Check it often, as it is updated as new events are added. The Clark County Fair will have a national event again this year and We (Connie & I) are currently waiting to see if there will be a repeat performance of the North Idaho Fair national DockDog event in Couer d'Alene in August. Sdb
Nice website and information. We are intrested in more info about dock dogs and locations, such as, where is Mulino. We are located in Eastern Oregon, Elgin,OR. Thank You
I just wanted everyone using this guestbook and visiting our site to know that although I do make a point of checking the guestbook every day or two, that this is a just a guestbook. Requests for how to get started in DockDogs would be much better served with an email to the secretary or myself which we check several times a day... except when we are on the dock! :). Thanks. See you on the dock! Sdb
I have a 10 month old chocolate lab that I would love to train to be a dock dog. I have some concerns & would love to talk with someone about them & getting him into training. I live in Canby & am a little disabled at the moment (recovering from a broken (in 3 places) foot. Would like to know how, when & where to get started. You can either e-mail me at henry92056@aol.com or call 503-266-5355. Am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
Bryan, It'd be great to have you come and give this wet n wild sport a try. Although your pup must be 6 months old to compete, she could certainly try out our puppy dock to get her feet wet! The next practice (after 2/28/09) will probably be towards the end of March. We might hold one before the BigHorn Show in Spokane which is March 19-22 (stay tuned). Joining is easy, you can print, fill out and 'snail' mail the membership form (there's a link on this website). Or if you want to try DockDiving first, send an email to connie.debruyn@verizon.net (club secretary) to get the address/directions to Terry's Pond in Mulino for a practice. You can play as a guest to see if your pup will take to it (spaniels are naturals at this game). Scott DeBruyn, club president
I have a Springer Spaniel pup she is 14 weeks old I would like to see how she does I will be out of town on the last week of February when is the next practice and how do I join thanks
Sarah, Would be great to see you and Dash out at the club practice the 28th! Drop Connie a line (if you haven't already) for the details. Johnny & Bocephus, I'm hoping several Cascade members will make the trip to Spokane again this year for the Big Horn Show. But, Jack is recovering from leg surgery and won't be jumping for several months, so Jack n Jill will be missing it this year. We'll likely be back next year though! Scott n Jumpin' Jack
Have dog who loves water and loves to jump. What better combination? Dash and I would love to join Cascade Dock Dogs!
Hey guys just checkin out your site. Hope to see many of you in spokane in march
Good morning. I stand in awe of my body. I am from Japan and know bad English, give true I wrote the following sentence: "You have a few seconds to hold the reader interest make sure you do it right! How to write a resume." With best wishes :), Chill.
the website is good - the pictures are lovely. I am excited to find out more about the sport and see if my pups will participate!
Steve, As with others who have signed our 'Guest Book' as a way to look for information, please drop us a line via email so we can fill you in on the details. We always love new people coming to try out this sport. Our practice facility is at a member's home in Mulino, Oregon and our next practice will probably be late February. Feel free to drop Connie (secretary) or me a line at: connie.debruyn@verizon.net or scott.debruyn@verizon.net. We might be able to hook you up with other members that find places to go play with their dogs in these off months. Hope to see you at the dock next season! Sdb
Where are you located? Looking for more information. We are in Portland. Have a year old lab who may get a kick out of the sport. Any training locations you are aware of in the Portland area? Thank you, Steve French
This is an awesome sport!! I wish you were closer, what a great family activity. I have a female catahoula that would love this. Thanks for the great video's and pictures. If you have any good training tips on getting them started, let me know. Stephanie Hilton cowgirl-up97301@peoplepc.com
Andrew/Lindsey, Thanks for you inquiry! Please send us an email so we can reply to you directly. The DockDog event schedule is so busy in the summer that we don't have practices from the end of June through September! To get involved, come to any event you see on the website with your dog and be prepared to 'GET WET'! :) Nearly all our members at these events as well as the event organizers and other clubs' members are more than happy to give you tips and hints for DockDog training. Again, send an email to Connie or myself and we'd be happy to talk with you and get you involved. Sdb, president, Cascade DockDogs scott.debruyn@verizon.net or connie.debruyn@verizon.net
I am a friend of John Nicholson and am interested in joining your club. Please put me on the string for info. on the Seaside event in September and let me know how I can PRACTICE this skill! Thanks, A. Yinger
I'm very interested in dock jumping. I just got a beautiful black lab. I have be interested in the sport for quite a while just been waiting for the right dog/my puppy to be born to really getting into the sport if anyone has any advice or helping aids to help me in the training process that would be much appreciated!! Thankx
All, We love the comments and appreciate you checking out our website! That said, I hate to see someone not get a timely reply to an inquiry on how to get involved with DockDogs. To that end please feel free to drop us a line via email if you have a pup you'd like to see wet. Send an email to any (or all) of the following: scott.debruyn@verizon.net (club president) jnicholson@bushnell.com (club vice president) connie.debruyn@verizon.net (club secretary) Thanks! Scott DeBruyn President, Cascade DockDogs
I have watched Dockdogs perform both years that it was at the Washington County fair and I have been wanting to get involved. Right now I have a 3 1/2 month old black lab female. She has started going in the water and playing and I would love to get her involved. Is she to ypung to start getting introduced? And how do I get involved in the club? Thank you very much Emilee emle6971@yahoo.com
I am currntly fostering a very sweet golden and she is LOVES the water!!! I would like to see if this maybe her sport. What can I do to set up a trial time for her?
I would love to get my 2 labs involved in this sport. Currently we are attending obedience and agility classes, but with summer coming we would like to include some water activites. Please contact me with your next open practice info. Thanks, Becky Wetherell (poppymad45@yahoo.com)
Wow, would love to join in the fun. When is the next practice. 2forthesun@comcast.net
This looks like so much fun and our dogs would love it. We have 2 yellow labs that are very active and love the water. Buddy is 6 and Gus is 1 year a couple months old. Would love to come to a practice, learn and have a good time.
Wow, I was admiring your website and really impressed with that big chocolate Bucky. He is a magnificent dog and must have an incredible owner! If you're ever near the White House, give me a call. I'd like to get my picture taken with you. G.B.
Looking for a ride to the febuary practice. I live in springfield
I lost chocolate lab "peanut" to cancer almost 2yrs. ago. I believe she would have been a great dockdiver, to me she was just great. Now with more knowledge I take Gordon diving regularly in competition. I cannot say she is better or not, just different. I am happy what I've learned from my experience with these great companions!! Sorry for your loss .. David Hoffman and Gordon
I am interested in Dock diving with my young rottweiler, she is small, fast and water and tennis ball crazy! I would love to attend on the 27th but I may have a conflict. Could someone contact me and give me some more info on how to get started? Brenda shawbren@comcast.net
Although we never met you are an inspiration and I know someday you will help me out after I cross the rainbow bridge. Say hello to my god friends kiki and nutmeg for me.
Nice job on the website Connie!
I have just discovered Dock Dogs and cant wait to get started. I have a year and a half old female Rottweiler/Golden named Keeleigh. She loves the water, and tennis balls even more. I think we are both going to have a blast competing in the waves. Im looking to learn as much as I can, so if anyone wants to help "mentor" me, I would be very grateful. My email is mooreacres4829@hotmail.com Thanks so much! Erin and Keeleigh

I enjoyed your show at the Pet and Companion Fair. I am the foster coordinator for a local rescue organization, Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals, located in the Portland area. I talked to a couple of people there regarding a dog we have in our rescue that someone in your group may be interested in. Hunter is a registered yellow Lab, 15 months old. He is from an excellent hunting line and his parents were DNA tested for health. He is about 80 lbs. and is in need of obedience training. His former family was transferred to France and they cannot take him. He was raised with 5 children and is a very friendly dog. He has a lot of energy and would love to be a dock dog. His picture can be seen at our website at www.ofosa.org along with his bio. He has a lot of energy and needs a family that will give him a job to do. If you have any questions or know of anyone interested in him please feel free to call me at 503-327-8849. Thank you, Shirley Demmin
I am intrested in joinin the club I have a couple dogs that I think would really enjoy it.

Cool Website.
Hey all you Crazy, Fun, Wonderful Dock Dogs folks -- thank you so much for your welcome, out-n-out friendliness, coaching, encouragement, great stories (about our dog and all of your dogs) and just an all-out fun time at Terry's beautiful place. Coal is happy and tired . . . and both Al & I have spent a lot of time looking at the cool photos and Flash slide show and oohing and ahhing at all the amazing (and hilarious) jumps. Thanks again -- and we'll see you soon. Cat & Al Zimmerman -- Coal's "mama & papa"
DO NOT ASK FOR INFORMATION THE QUEST BOOK ... YOUR QUESTION MAY NEVER GET SEEN BY THE RIGHT PERSON. Please e-mail jnicholson@bushnell.com for questions
To Chasey, Your Ma and Pa love you so and all of us dockers miss you. But for now you are in a better place where you're body is whole again and there is no pain except for the seperation from all who love you. We all will be together again, someday, jumping high from that dock above the clouds. The website is great, a few typing errors, but I love it. It gives me many ideas for my own.
Can I please get directions for the Fun Jump Day on Saturday the 26th. It looks as though even if your dog has not done this other than in fun, we could give it a try. Please email me at shelly@aestheticsurgicalarts.com, thanks!
How can i get into Dock jumping in California?? Does anyone know of anything out here?! Thanks, Tamara. e-mail fourreel6888@yahoo.com
can you send us directions to the august 26 bbq and open jump? We're interested in attending...we had our dog at the open dock at the lane county fair and had a blast! jtandcf@aol.com
If you want to check us out, learn how to jump and get updated info on Open Houses, Events, Meetings and Practices .... The best way is to fill out the membership form that can be found on the left menu. Do it. Please don't leave your questions and e-mail addresses here, you might get missed! Actually ... you will get missed, this page is rarely ever looked at by our members. Truth. Thanks, Bucky
I got a phone message last week saying that today's fun jump is cancelled and that you guys still need my email. I re-filled out the membership form and I'm going to put my email in the guestbook so you guys have it. my email is kaytheironic82@yahoo.com I have a lot of questions about what placings and titles mean in dock dogs competitions. How can I place first in the Junior Division and also place First in the Senior Division within one weekend? Does a "title" mean that you won a medal or do you have to make it to the finals and then win something in order to get a title? I will definitely be in Roseburg, but only for the one wave on Saturday because that's the only day I'm not working and can drive down.
We would love to come out to the event this weekend!(Aug.5) We have a chessie and a lab mix, both of whom love to swim and jump. The lab mix is FREAKISHLY athletic and I have always thought him capable of jumping competitively, although we really just want to have fun and meet some good dog people. Feel free to conmtact me stevenkerrick@hotmail.com Great site, by the way
I am also interested in the open house this weekend (August 5), but was unsuccessful at finding someone to contact about where and what time it's at. If someone could please get back to me, I would really appreciate it! My email is mel_bee07@yahoo.com. Thanks and hope to see you this weekend!
Hello I would like some info on the intro event on August 5th. We have a German Shepherd that would love to try this out! If you could please email me at meshishnek@verizon.net that would be great. I tried to find an email address on your website and was not able to. Thank you.
I would like information about the intro events on August 5 and August 26. I would like to check it out and see if my dog has interest in this. Is the jumpeing hard on their bodies? Jake is part lab and part great dane. He loves water. I saw dock dogs at the Washington County Fair and I am curious to see if Jake would like it. What time would the events start? What about directions? The 5th is a bit hard for me because my son has an event that day, but I might be able to work it out. Thanks.
You will be sadly missed Chase....
I knew Xhase for only a few days. It was easy to see how she could touch so many lifes. She was and always will be a special dog. One that will be in our hearts forever.
Cera and Terry, As I write this, tears stream down my face. Your memorial for Chase is the most touching I've ever read. Our hearts go out to you during this time of loss and grief. Connie
Chase was a beautiful dog! May she RIP. Jenn B PetCare Insurance
Hi, I just signed up with the group and I'm excited to get my pup out there with the more experienced divers. Cooper is about 18 weeks old and just started diving last weekend. Site looks good!
Hi, I am a friend of Cera's. I was just checking out the memorial for Chase! She will be greatly missed. I don't know a dog that had a better mom and dad then Cera and Terry. I know humans that don't have it as good!! After losing my Rotty just a couple months ago, I know the heart ache and pain. My thoughts are with them! Laurel PS> The web site looks great!
My prayers go out to you. What a beautiful tribute. Just seeing the first picture with at song brought me to tears. My heart goes out to you and your family.
I would like to thank your community for such a wonderful tribute to Chase. I know her mother and father well through a business relationship I hold with their company. Throughout the years I have grown to know both Terry and Cera and have felt privelaged in every way to be able to do so. Two years ago I was lucky enough to get a lab of my own for which I made sure Cera was involved in the knowledge of my newest aquirement, a chocolate lab named Emma (I am a true lab lover at heart and thaught I may never have the honor of having one again as I had when I was young). Emma has touched my life much as much as any dog could. I got her as more of a service dog than pet, though she seems to be more of a loving pet than service dog which is the way I would have it in the first place. As I stop and see how proud Cera and Terry are of all their kids, I find myself in awe in hopes of one day being the father of Emma that these two wonderful people are to their whole 4 legged family. When I was told of Chases' passing I found myself to be mortified of the possible loss I may one day find with Emma, this really puts into perspective the true and utter love these 2 have for their dogs. I once found it funny in a way to find people who have so much love for something such as an animal, but now I have found the reason why this feeling exists for which I have Cera and Terry to unconditionally thank. There will truly be no better parental figures than both Terry and Cera, I know Chase was as proud to be a child as they are to be parents. As I read this highly deserving tribute I find a lump in my throat brought on by my unconditional love for my own, and the sorrow of the loss for friends. Thank you for making me feel this way for without this, I may never experience the feeling of true love for animals as I have had. A brilliant friend once told me on your death bed all one has to ask is "was I loved, did I love". This is the only reminder to me that comes even close to setteling my feelings of sorrow in this case. In answer to the pending question at hand in Chase's case, we all know the answer as it rings louder than words. How do you cope wiht the loss of such a great dog? I may never know the answer, but am delighted I have had the experience to understand the love brought forth by Chase's family relationship she must have had which obviuosly goes both ways. In closing, I am sure all those oriented with your orginazation know just how genuine both Terry and Cera are when it comes to their family. All those at Cascade Dock Dogs have had the opportunity to experience this first handed as I have had the luxury of doing as well. People like these two don't come around every day, I am sure Chase will be envied in heaven. Billy Joel said it best that "only the good die young", in this case, albeit too soon, it was an unmentionable truth. All my best from my family to thiers and yours, and thank you again for letting me experience such a touching tribute. It is with unpresidented sorrow I bid her a fond farewell. Doug Blizzard, on behalf of the whole Blizzard family.
My heart is breaking for you all. But, I know that Chase is up there leading my dear Kadin off the dock and showing him how it's really done. Your newest friends from CA, Linda and Tessa
What a beautiful lab! Keep the memory going! Hang in there!
Dear Cera and Terry, May angels surround you and sadness forget you. Our love and prayers to you. Joel and Kellie
Beautifully written and beautifully done. I have shed so many tears for you. Thank you for sharing this. Shon

I am seeking information about dock dog training opportunities on the Coast or Southern Willamette Valley. I have a natural who taught herself to jump off docks. I would like to refine her talents. I can be reached at: star1@presys.com Thank you.

Hi, nice and beautiful site!
I think you have a fabulous web site! I enjoyed the slide show. Our trainer Kim suggested we look in to dock dogs. We have two dogs that are both under a year old. I would like to talk with someone from your club and possibly attend an event to see if we would fit in your group. Please email me at danielandcherish@comcast.net
